--Duck season opens on Nov 3rd and it can’t come soon enough. Rayburn, Toledo and Dam-B are all in great shape, with duck habitat galore. TPWD did aerial spraying of Smart Weed and Brown Millet on Dam-B and it looks like duck heaven. Toledo’s draw down allowed vegetation to grow up in the shallows and it is now inundated with water. Rayburn always seems to hunt better when there is grass on the surface where ducks can feed and rest. And the shallow pockets are full of grass. We’re already seeing big ducks starting to show up, so hopefully we’ll have a bang up season. Those of you that have fished on the pontoon for crappie know Ronnie Burnet well. This year, he has secured some great deer and hog hunting areas and will be handling that end of business. Give me a shout or call him at 409-423-6589 if you are interested in getting in on some of that action.
